About the President

Testimonials

    Work Style
  • You do this work in a very compassionate, honest, and straightforward way.
  • You have an outstanding ability to instigate change while being invisible (behind the scenes).
  • Very competent at considering a lot of the pertinent information and systematically dissecting the pieces into manageable bites.
  • You are incredibly insightful at a very personal level - meaning that you are able to understand what is happening in a given situation - interpersonal, intragroup, intergroup.
  • I see you as very intuitive and I experience that intuition powerfully when you decide to say something.
  • You have a charm and warmth in your energy that when you engage, those you are interacting with feel in a powerful presence.
  • You have a talent for courageous truth telling. I find this a great asset on the board. You're direct without being rude.
  • The key strengths that make you unique include your ability to be yourself and to connect with people. You make genuine connections with people regardless of their demographics or organization positions. You are able to see people for who they are.

    Facilitation

  • Having seen you in action at the EPA - you exude competence, both in the practicalities (e.g. facilitation, organization) of group work and in the detail (specific interactions to figure out what was actually happening). You were excellent at explaining things like the SMART - strong metaphorics, and an artistic flair.
  • You see the big picture and ask the questions that keep us all focused on what's most important, most useful. You think strategically. You don't get muddled in the details, either practical or interpersonal.
  • You are able to look at a group and see the patterns that exist and the processes that are being used. By pointing them out, you help a group to see how they are functioning and what is needed for movement. Yet, you do this subtly through your questioning process.
  • Your authenticity builds credibility and trust.

    Assessment

  • You have great ability to assess what is going on with a group and [you] do that in the moment.
  • You are able to help people identify the root cause of feelings, issues, etc. I've seen you do this through your questioning technique. You are able to probe and really get to the heart of the matter.
  • You have strong analytical skills and that is key for consulting and asking the right questions to assess needs and formulate action plans.

    Process Design

  • Whenever I've been in a group with you, you are one of the first people to address the fact that we need a process, and you also raise all of things that should be included in that process, and often they are things I haven't thought of. It always reminds me of the importance of process and structure and I find that we always make movement when you do this. This can help organizations by modeling for them, helping them to see the importance of process and how in addressing it up front, it creates a strong foundation for a group to be productive.
